Bonds of Mara (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/BondsOfMara/

The collective resume shared by Sal Costa, Dave Benedict, Bryan Crouch, and Daryl Ralph reads like a well-curated playlist of dark modern rock melody. Individually, they’ve spent years learning the ropes, perfecting their craft, and surviving the perils of the music industry as members of Canadian rock fixtures My Darkest Days, Default, Hail The Villian, and Sons of Butcher. Now they have come together as BONDS OF MARA to forge an organic new sound, propelled by intensity, groove, raw punk energy, and honest, confessional lyrics.
Since coming together less than a year ago, the group has made a serious splash within the rock community with the release of their debut single, ‘Lights Out’, which is an aptly titled, compelling icebreaker for the band, giving audiences a sense of what to expect in the future.
“Before getting together, we were all doing different things after being a little frustrated with our previous experiences in the music industry. We were all in the same headspace wondering if we even wanted to be in a band again, but as we talked more and more about music, we realized that the drive was there. It sounds like a cliché, but it happened very organically,” said Costa.
Building a band from the ground up is a thrilling prospect, as it means they have a blank slate in which to create the musical aesthetic and style for the band and develop their own creative processes.
Production chores for ‘Lights Out’ and the music Bonds of Mara continues to work on is being handled by Benedict’s Default bandmate, Danny Craig, who also laid down the drum tracks for the material. He has acted as a great collaborator and facilitator as they bring together their collective talents, experiences and influences into their new songs.
As ‘Lights Out’ continues to climb the rock radio charts in Canada (currently in the Top 15), the band heads back into the studio to record their next single, ‘Killed The Love’, as well as several other tracks which will make up the balance of a 7 song EP to be released in 2020.

No Liars (Victoria) // https://www.facebook.com/noliarsbc/

Fusing elements of post punk, emo, and melodic hardcore, the songs erupt with raw emotion, featuring dynamic vocals, blistering tempos, and unrelenting grooves. They draw influence from other edgy, melodically driven bands such as Alexisonfire, Refused, At The Drive In, and A Wilhelm Scream.
After forming in the winter of 2014, they spent the next year writing and recording demo material, enlisting the help of Jesse Gander of Rain City Recorders (Japandroids, White Lung, The Pack A.D) to mix, as well as Charles Carvalho of Joao Carvalho Mastering (Alexisonfire, Arkells, Silverstein, Protest the Hero).
In 2016, NO LIARS is set to release their brand of punk to the rest of Canada, and beyond!

CRNKSHFT (Vancouver) // https://www.facebook.com/crnkshft/

CRNKSHFT is an explosive band composed of five musicians from Vancouver, Canada. The band is setting the scene ablaze with its explosive, drop tune aggression with melody at its core.
Influenced by bands like Alice In Chains, Pantera, Metallica, Nirvana and Godsmack, CRNKSHFT have carved out a sound in the vein of Five Finger Death Punch, Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, and Alexisonfire, that gives them a refreshing sound that’s forges these genres together. Their riffs are designed to get your blood pulsing, their dynamics get your fist pumping, and the melody keeps you singing along.
Since the band’s formation in 2015, CRNKSHFT’s engine has been firing on all cylinders with their debut EP ‘Hard F***ing Rock’ released in 2015 plus being tapped as local support for such touring bands as Prong, Grim Reaper, Lordi and The Veer Union. The wrecking crew then unleashed their self-titled EP in August 2017 produced by Darren Grahn (Metallica, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi) which allowed the formation to embark on a multiple tours that have taken the 5 members across Canada
CRNKSHFT has most recently been Nominated for Break Out West – Hard Rock Band of the year 2018, and has been invited to play at Indie Week 2018, one of Canada’s largest music showcases in Toronto, Ont.
