We're the type of people that when asked to jump, we say how high. When the Calendar™ tells us it's a New Year, we party. Generally we don't know why, but the fact that the next day is a holiday is a perfectly good explanation for us. Now that I think about it, we probably do it because we like to dance. A good excuse to go out and cut a rug with our pals is never frowned upon, and who doesn't secretly love gettin' a bit gussied-up and fixin' their hair just right? It's a facade of civility, but it's our facade and we done built it.

Our favourite Albertan who alleviates the hurtin' by hurtling through house and teasing with techno. The last time she hitched up at Body Language it was a category five tropical storm of hypnotic tech (the good kind) and smashy komputer rhythms, which was only tempered by her ability to select the perfect classic house record to bring the story full circle. Always and forever my primary influence from Cowtown, her dedication to her craft and industry has brought her around the world and back to us to deliver the goods.

Elan is low-key the most dedicated and talented house music producer in town. His epic ELKA - CHANTS tape on 1080p is a gauzy reflection of 80s, 90s, and 2000s house music, full of fun surprises while remaining a dead serious homage to the root of the art form. Anyone who’s had the pleasure of rolling with the Festivus crew for any of their local events or their flagship festival in July understands that these gents know how to PARTY. Between Andy’s chunked-up tidy original house and tech dubs and Pat’s obsession with seeking the perfect blends, they’ll be handling midnight duties on our main dancefloor. Put your tights back on, picture that perfect moon over the little lake with the canoes, and get scrambled once again while the dudes lay it down in style.

The two most positive dudes around on the scene have teamed up to curate a two-hour block of funk, disco, breaks, and chicago house with live raps. Their infectious energy is perfect to kick off the New Year in the second room. They’ve also brought their custom Danley-brand soundsystem to make sure the sonics are butthole-tight.

Justin aka Juice aka the Juiceman aka the Juiciest is certainly the nicest investment banker-type I have ever met. You’d never know from his muscular dance moves and discerning ear for beats that he could turn around and assess the value of your corporation in a New York Minute™. Jokes aside, our dude has cut his teeth over a decade or more promoting shows, running crews, and supporting great music in our fair city. We’re blessed to have him set the vibe right downstairs, opening the show in our Main Room.
