Blues at the Beaumont 


Vancouver blues and jazz singer, LJ Mounteney, teams up with one of Vancouver’s most eclectic art spaces,The Beaumont Studios, to perform two separate one-hour concerts that combine great live music, fair trade coffee (Honest Pete Roasters) and local thrift shopping at the Beaumont’s funky and fabulous Boutique.

The B1 Gallery is an intimate space that holds approximately 30-40 people. Grab a beverage at Honest Pete’s and browse the boutique before enjoying a one hour concert with some of Vancouver’s finest musicians.  Afterwards, walk the seawall at nearby Olympic Village, shop on Main Street/Granville/Cambie and go for dinner at any one of the amazing restaurants in the area.  

First show - 3pm

Second show - 5pm

Tickets $15 for each seating (plus ticket fees)

About the musicians:

LJ Mounteney

Dubbed a “Canadian Bonnie Raitt,” LJ Mounteney combines soulful vocals with high-energy performances.  Possessing an authentic passion for music and strong work ethic, Mounteney has worked with some of the best musicians the West Coast has to offer. She’ll be a featured artist for the Victoria Blues Society’s annual fundraiser this March with legendary musician Jack Lavin and her upcoming CD Release is being presented in May by Vancouver’s award winning organization, The Rogue Folk Club (at Mel Lehan Hall).

Mounteney’s sophomore album, Mama Danced, is an upbeat album of 13 blues and roots songs showcasing her range and musicality in a mixture of originals and covers and features many award-winning BC and Alberta musicians.  For this afternoon’s show, she’ll be playing original and cover tracks off her new album along with blues and blues/jazz standards.

Tim Porter

Gifted and versatile, guitarist Tim Porter has long been one of the mainstays of Vancouver’s live music scene.  Tim has recorded and toured with scores of artists as diverse as The Tenors, Long John Baldry, Powder Blues Band, John Lee Sanders, Joani Bye & the Homewreckers, Jim Byrnes, Stevie Ray Vaughn Bonnie Raitt, Robert Plant, Steve Winwood, Spinal Tap, and One More Girl.

Linda Kidder

Linda Kidder is a multiple, award-winning multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter. She has toured with K.D. Lang, opened for George Jones, and shared the stage with greats like Bob Hope and Ian Tyson.  In 2011 Linda was part of Margaret Atwood’s reading of Year of the Flood.  Linda is an extremely talented songwriter and writer with 4 solo cd’s under her belt.  Her song, Take Some Care of Me was recorded and released in 2022 by singer LJ Mounteney.
