BLUE JEAN

RAINBOW VISIONS CLOSING NIGHT FILM

Directed by Georgia Oakley | 97 min | UK

It's 1988 England, and Margaret Thatcher's Conservative government is about to pass a law stigmatizing gays and lesbians, forcing Jean (Rosy McEwen, in a performance of tightly wound brilliance), a gym teacher, to live a double life. As pressure mounts from all sides, the arrival of a new student catalyzes a crisis that will challenge Jean to her core.

FESTIVALS: Venice Film Festival, Zurich Film Festival, BFI London, Thessaloniki Film Festival

Directed by Georgia Oakley | 8 min | USA

Idaho Babe is a short, poetic documentary about the Idaho Buckaroo legend, Harriet "Babe" Drake Hanson, a queer woman who ran the Sawtooth Lodge in Grandjean, ID, at the beginning of the 20th century.
