Description

What if...we gave talented emerging acts the chance to be backed by a full band?

We've pondered this question for awhile and we are VERY excited to be putting on our first edition of Blue Jay Sessions: Amped Up which will see three singers be able to do just that on Saturday, May 28 as a new extension of our regular songwriters' series at The Prairie Emporium.

Alberta's Liz Christensen, Ashley Ghostkeeper and Brettyn Rose will perform captivating back-to-back sets (a mix of originals and covers) while being backed by three members of the award-winning Nice Horse: Krista Wodelet (drums), Brandi Sidoryk (bass) and Tara McLeod (guitar).

This higher energy and later evening version of Blue Jay offers attendees a unique opportunity to see talented songwriters perform beyond an acoustic setting. We are sure their songs will command the room's attention, but they might even get you on your feet dancin' too!

Just like the regular songwriters' rounds happening during Blue Jay Sessions: Spring Remix, the food menu will include sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, chips and homemade dips and salads. For drinks, expect Russell Brewing Co. craft beer, a selection of spirits and cider, as well as some interesting (but approachable) wines curated by Bricks Wine Co.

A selection of Libra non-alcoholic beer and non-alcoholic canned cocktails will also be available.
