Four young men with dreams of playing the big stage, bringing a revival of rock and roll with modern energy and a uniquely classic sound from the heart of Vancouver, we give you… Blue Arbutus!

 

When guitarist Simon Barer put out a call to arms to start the most face-melting band around, drummer Wyatt Gilson, vocalist Ben Jackson, and bassist Chriss Richter answered the call. Through their love of Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Keys, Radiohead and more, the guys quickly built up a repertoire of up-tempo, daring, and experimental material.

 

The band’s self-recorded, self-produced, self-titled album features songs ranging from the can’t-help-but-sing-along “Dancing on the Chairs”, to the epic journey of “Deter”, to the foot-stomping blues rock of “Run Till they Catch Me” and “Lose Your Mind”.

 

Never knowing where you’re going to be taken to next, Blue Arbutus shows hit the ground running, and will keep you on your feet until the final note, leaving you screaming for more.

 

With hard hitting riffs, scorching vocals, bombastic drums, and bone rattling bass lines, Blue Arbutus is the up and coming band you can't afford to miss.

The Quixotic Neurotics are from Vancouver BC. Their uplifting performance style is best described as "inspiring folk-rock storytelling", and their influences include Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Daniel Lanois, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Tea Party, and Thrice.

 

The idea for the band has been swirling around since about 2005, but began to form into The Quixotic Neurotics in 2016. They have played at some of Vancouver’s best venues such as The Railway Stage, Studio Records, The Roxy Cabaret, The Blarneystone, the Portside Pub, and the Wise Hall, and in November 2018, The Quixotic Neurotics were showcased in the “Best In Vancouver” that took place at The Railway. Next up: The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island - Saturday February 2nd!
