Description
Better Business Bureau Serving Alberta and East Kootenay and the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) invite the public to participate in a province-wide Earth Month Electronics Recycling & Secure Data Destruction Event focused on environmental responsibility, data protection, and community support.
From April 13–17, electronics recycling bins will be available at two locations:
This allows residents and businesses in both cities to drop off unused electronics at their convenience throughout the week. All items will be handled responsibly through ERA’s certified programs, emphasizing reuse before recycling.
On Friday, April 17, ERA’s mobile shredding truck will be stationed at the BBB Calgary office to provide free, real-time secure destruction of data-bearing devices such as hard drives, USBs, and discs. Participants are welcome to watch the destruction process for added peace of mind.
Usable electronics collected during the week will be refurbished and donated to charities, schools, and community organizations across Alberta, supporting increased digital access and community development.
This Earth Month, join BBB and ERA in reducing e‑waste, safeguarding personal data, and giving back to local communities.
