Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour

Presenting Partners: Banff & Lake Louise, Rab

Brought to you by: Mountain Fever Productions

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival. Held at the beginning of November, a selection of the top films submitted to the Festival goes on a tour worldwide. The World Tour reaches over 550,000 audience members through more than 1100 screenings in 600 locations in 40 countries. From its humble beginnings in Banff, Alberta, where a couple of filmmakers got together, it truly spans the globe.

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour will be shown for three nights at the Sun Valley Opera House, beginning Friday night, January 30th, and continuing Saturday night, January 31st, and Sunday night, February 1st, 2026. Doors open at 6 pm, with films starting at 7:00 pm.

The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival has made a yearly stop in the Ketchum / Sun Valley area for the last 26 years. While most cities host only one night of films, Sun Valley audiences will have the opportunity to view approximately 27 films from the Banff Centre this year, spread across three evenings. A complete list of film descriptions will be released mid-December from the Banff Centre and posted at www.mountainfever.us.

This year, a portion of the proceeds from each night’s Banff World Tour Program will support “The Little Mountain with the Big Heart”, Rotarun, the ski area that is giving South Valley kids the opportunity to ski.
