Description

Every artist already has a story. Most just haven’t been given permission to tell it, or the tools to hold onto it.

This workshop introduces participants to the importance of understanding & owning their art–business story — not as branding fluff, but as a living narrative that evolves alongside their practice. Participants will explore why story is foundational to audience connection, how to articulate a compelling narrative, & how to use story to build trust in their creative business.

Participants are encouraged to recognize that their story isn’t something to “get right” once & then move on from. It’s something they are allowed — & invited — to keep telling, refining, & sharing as they grow.

This session creates space to:

  • Let go of perfectionism & “doing it right”
  • Stop waiting until the story feels finished
  • Understand story as a relationship, not a performance

This is a foundational workshop. It sets the tone for how artists relate to their voice, their work, & how they speak about it publicly.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of why your story matters in your art & business
  • Permission to tell your story as it is — not as you think it should sound
  • Language for speaking about your work with more confidence & consistency
  • A grounded starting point for future marketing, grant writing, & communication
  • Bio Template (short + long)
  • Artist Statement Editing Checklist

This workshop is ideal for artists who feel stuck, scattered, or unsure how to talk about what they do — especially when the stakes feel high.
