Ever been to an "ARIE" show? No? Well.. How about a "Blu Beach Band" show? Really? Damn.. Let me tell you this, If you're looking for high energy and traumatic emotional lows this is your kind of show! Here's a write up from local music connoisseur and artist Dyanna Kampman:

ARIE

ARIE (but he lets his friends call him Liam) has been diving into and exploring his own artistry since the world shut down back in 2020. I am actually pretty sure he was born with a guitar in his hands and a distant sound ringing in his ears, but that’s beside the point. He has brought his own sound to life through iPhone voice memos, local studios and now to the Greenroom stage. ARIE has continued to create and evolve not only the sound, but the passion for music. From his first single “The World is Ending” – kind of fitting for the time, to his latest album “Homage” – he has allowed listeners to experience all that being part of the universe has to offer through his own reflection. I think one of my favourite lines he has used to describe his own music is: “It’s just everything that’s happened in my life up until now.” I believe a sign of a true artist lays within whether they can stand back and admire art that isn’t always their own. Liam has heard the music within a lot of his friends and has encouraged them to put it out into the world (even lending a hand in the process of creation (like me for example, I snagged quite a few of his guitar samples when I first started (and I will probably snag a few more)). He changed the meaning of music for a lot of people, and part of me likes to think he woke up the city a bit. Blah blah blah, it’s all sappy and fluff. ARIE is just a dude with a guitar and a rocky relationship with nicotine– buy a ticket and we will see you there!

BLU BEACH BAND

Blu Beach Band From a small town to big stages, Blu Beach Band has been turning the volume up across the province (and the country!). Their indie-rock sound brings in people from all around the bar and puts them on the dance floor. These friends have been jamming together since their pre-teens and their chemistry on stage reflects that. Trust me, this isn’t a band you’d pass on buying a ticket to see. Their latest release, “No Guff”, has personally been on repeat all year long. I cannot tell you how many times my little sister and I shout, “CITY LOVE!” at one another. If you get it, you get it, if you don’t… you probably should look into getting it. These guys just have a way of getting stuck in your head! The whole band has such a lively energy that just makes you want to move n’ groove. Putting these hooligans on the same line-up is a crazzzy way to end September. Can’t flipping wait! - Dyanna Kampman
