Speakers

Brad Zumwalt has been growing technology companies in Calgary for over 30 years including Image Club, Eyewire, and Veer to acquisition by Adobe, Getty, and Corbis, respectively. Today, Brad is leading initiatives to support other entrepreneurs and innovators. He co-founded Rainforest Alberta, a collective working to improve Alberta’s innovation ecosystem. He also collaborated with the City of Calgary to build the Platform Innovation Centre in Calgary’s East Village neighbourhood. Brad is a former member of the boards of Alberta University of the Arts, Science Alberta Foundation, University Technologies International, Norlien Foundation, Viewpoint Foundation, Social Venture Partners Calgary, and a past president of Social Venture Partners International.

Lourdes Juan is an award-winning, serial entrepreneur and Urban Planner, and TedX speaker, with a Masters in Environmental Design, who has founded a diverse array of organizations including Hive Developments, Knead Technologies, Leftovers Foundation, Fresh Routes, and Soma Spa. Lourdes and her company Knead Technologies graduated from the Platform Incubator 18 month program in May 2024.

Calgary’s tech future is bright with future leaders like Rumeza Fatima. She just graduated from high school and was a recipient of the Platform 10x Future Founders Scholarship program. Her passion for tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship are reasons to be excited about the real potential here in Calgary’s tech ecosystem.

 

Dr. Terry Rock is President & CEO of Platform Calgary. He is working to bring innovation to the core of the Calgary and Alberta economies. He is a passionate promoter of Calgary’s potential and has an extensive entrepreneurial and strategic leadership background.

 

The event will take place in the KPMG Pitch Stage and West Hall. Light refreshments will be provided.
