We're excited to have Alberta IoT Core Member Anixter host our first Alberta IoT Technical Luncheon on Tuesday, December 10th at 11:30am.
There will be a presentation from Alfieri Negro, Outside Sales - Business Development at Anixter Canada Inc. Alfieri will provide a brief overview of Anixter and their role in the IoT space. He will also be sharing some newer standards both ratified and upcoming that may be of interest to Alberta IoT members.
These standards will include:
-The Evolution of Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- ANSI/BICSI 007-2017, Information Communication Technology Design and Implementation Practices for Intelligent Buildings and Premises
-Single Pair Ethernet Update
Lunch will be provided.

About Alfieri Negro:
An RCDD since 2000, Alfieri has over 20 years of experience in assisting customers with physical layer infrastructure decisions. Operating at the intersection of the construction community, Building Management, Facilities/IT/Security/AV departments, and the ever-expanding world of IP based technologies; he uses the breadth of his experience to assist customers in understanding the benefits and drawbacks of the technology choices available to them, as well as the applicable standards and best practices for proper deployment. The overall goal is facilitating the cost effective deployment of technology solutions that transform the built environment and enable changing business requirements.
