FILM SYNOPSIS:
Golden is a 2021 documentary about the phenomenon of ageism in Canadian society and the activists working to bring it to an end. Among them - Margaret Gillis, who is working to bring about a UN convention on the rights of older persons, the activist and writer Julia Moulden, whose focus is ageism in the workplace, Dr. Samir Sinha from Mt Sinai in Toronto who is working on ageism in the health care system and Laura Tamblyn Watts who is our voice about ageism in media. There is also a handful of first person narratives in the film, anecdotes from people who have experienced ageism in their lives directly. Golden: The End of Ageism explores this new frontier in civil rights.

How to attend the event in person:
This event is being held in multiple locations across Alberta.
ONLINE
Want to attend from the comfort of your home? You can watch the film portion and then join us for an online discussion via Zoom for those that prefer to stay home. There will be a link to the Zoom discussion on the website where you will be watching the film. The host will advise you as to when you should click on the link to the Zoom.
The live broadcast portion of the event starts at Noon followed by the discussion.
How to attend the event online:
Your email confirmation from Showpass (once you have bought your ticket) will contain your unique personalised link to the event. It will be in the body of the email - not in the ticket that is attached to the email.
Your link should not be shared - once it is used, it cannot be used again to access the screening. Just prior to the start of the event, click that link and you will be taken to a website where you can watch the film and its live introduction. There will be a link to the Zoom discussion on the website where you will be watching the film. The host will advise you as to when you should click on the link to the Zoom so you can join the discussion.
If you have lost or deleted your confirmation email from Showpass, please email "help@thirdactionfilmfest.ca" AT LEAST 1 HOUR PRIOR TO SHOWTIME. We will be able to help you.

You will need to have a Showpass account to register for this event. If you do not, just start registering for the event by clicking Buy Ticket and creating an account will become part of the process (Showpass has set it up this way).

This is a free event. All registrants should be either in venue 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time or if attending online, 5 minutes prior to scheduled start time. If you are unable to make it to the event, please cancel your registration so others may attend in your place.
