A celebration of South African music in Canada. Every year we bring the best Afrikaans artists to Canada. 2026 is the first time that we will be including three of the best artists from South Africa. Kurt Darren, Elandre and Refentse will ensure that it is awesome night.

Kurt Darren

He is a South African singer, songwriter, and television presenter and known for his energetic live performances, unique dance moves, and a string of hits in both English and Afrikaans, including "Loslappie, Kaptein, Hop Hop Spinnekop” and more. He has won nine South African Music Awards (SAMA) and is sometimes referred to as the "Prince of Afrikaans music".

Elandre

Elandré Schwartz, also known as 'Elandré' (born in Despatch, Eastern Cape) is a South African musician. As a 19-year-old he studied at the Waterfront Theatre School in Cape Town. He became famous after posting a video on social media where he sang Bruce Springsteen's "Tougher than the Rest". And the rest is history as he followed this with more hits.

Refentse

Refentse Morake is a South African singer-songwriter who gained fame through viral videos of him singing in Afrikaans. Discovered in 2015 while playing guitar, he was signed by Sony Music and has since released popular albums, blending African and Afrikaans music styles. His unique background, having grown up speaking Afrikaans due to attending an Afrikaans school, has become a defining part of his musical identity.
