Description

We acknowledge that this event takes place on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ speaking Musqueam people.

The Association of Canadian Archivists Student Chapter at the University of British Columbia (ACA@UBC) is delighted to present its tenth annual international Seminar and Symposium, Unresolved: Balancing Access and Privacy in the Digital Age

Records and archives professionals have a mandate to preserve and protect records, while also enhancing their accessibility and dissemination. Unresolved: Balancing Access and Privacy in the Digital Age seeks to connect the perspectives of records and archives professionals with those of law professionals and government officials to critically examine how we can reconcile the seemingly conflicting values of access and privacy

Please note that while the date, time, and location provided through ticket registration are for the Symposium day, taking place on Friday, February 16, 2018, all registrants are invited and encouraged to attend the Seminar sessions on Thursday, February 15, 2018.

As in previous years, all events will take place on the University of British Columbia campus.* Seminar sessions will take place on Thursday, February 15 in Room 2314 of The Nest (6133 University Blvd.). The symposium will take place on Friday, February 16 at the Frederic Wood Theatre (6354 Crescent Rd.). The seminar consists of interactive panels with a range of speakers, while the symposium features presentations in which speakers express their personal opinions and share their experiences.
