Bio: Aaron Trory was born and raised on Salt Spring Island, BC. He started playing music due to a desire to be part of something greater than himself. Coming from a musical family, he hung out with all kinds of groovy hippie people there in the 90s. In high school, he hung out with the jazz kids, because they partied harder than ANYONE at that school. In college, he got mixed up with a few bands, one of which being the now Toronto-based indie rock outfit known as Paint. During rehearsals with Paint, Aaron discovered the rich sounds of the then Port Coquitlam-based studio Maximus Sound, where he recorded his debut album Bored Yesterday in 2015. During the recording process he was invited to join Blarney Stone house band "The Shenanigans." After developing a psychic link with his bandmates, Aaron decided it was time to attempt and approach the so-called "difficult second album". With help from his new psychic friends, the album was still difficult, but genuinely all the more interesting for it. So come to The Portside on Thursday, June 14th to hear some new songs and old favourites from Aaron Trory and the Shenanigans.

Album Reviews"The Brits have a term a term, "gobsmacked" to describe the pure joy your 2nd release brought to me when I successfully downloaded it early this morning. I listened to many of the tracks several times. WOW... what a great way to start a grey Sunday."

It's not every day you wake up to a text message like that, and upon doing so Aaron Trory could feel his life begin to change.

Zombie Sunflowers is a loose concept album based on the work of Tom Petty, Black Mirror's San Junipero episode, working in the Vancouver film industry, and playing at The Blarney Stone every Saturday for the last three years.

Recorded in a manic three-day span at East Vancouver's Blue Light Studio, the "quiet hangover music" portion of the album was mixed there, whereas the "schizophonic and psychedelic echo chamber" portion was mixed at Port Coquitlam's Echoplant Sound.

With the album cover hand-painted by his long-term romantic partner and the majority of the album's photography taken at Riverview Hospital, this album is Aaron Trory's definitive love letter to the Greater Vancouver metropolitan area and the experiences he has had there.
