92.9 The Bull Presents: AARON PRITCHETT

With very special guest KIRA ISABELLA & featuring David James

Aaron Pritchett’s legacy continues to be unstoppable.  His authentic desire to connect with his fans, whether it be onstage, via his digital platforms, in person or through his music, has sustained and grown a robust and loyal fan base for well over a decade.  Artistically, Aaron Pritchett continues to adapt, and evolve, while refusing to abandon the down-home sincerity in his music that has been his trademark since his career inception.   Pritchett has charted anthems like “Dirt Road In Em, “Let’s Get Rowdy,” “Hold My Beer (Certified GOLD),” and also appealed to the softer side with powerful hits like “Done You Wrong,” and his recent top 5 smash - “When A Momma’s Boy Meets A Daddy’s Girl.”

“Country Music always appealed to my soul because the songs tackled subject matter that may have been taboo for other formats and told REAL stories about REAL people. Those stories were a lot like mine. I was going fishing, camping, and riding buses to hockey tournaments in even smaller towns than the one I grew up in, life was a lot more country than rock and roll. That feeling resonated with me and I strive to convey that in my music to this day”.

“The Score” released shortly after Aaron Pritchett opened multiple SOLD OUT shows for Garth Brooks, hit the market on June 24th, 2016 and debuted at #1 Canadian on the country charts. The first single “Dirt Road In ‘Em” broke industry paradigms by landing inside the top #10 on the country radio singles chart, marking Aaron’s first return to the Top 10 in over 8 years.  The sophomore single, “Out Of The Blue” scored a top 15 spot at radio in November 2016, and the aforementioned “When A Momma’s Boy Meets A Daddy’s Girl,” landed at #5 on the Canadian country singles chart and was the #1 most played Canadian track – as well!

Recently, the industry has caught on to what the fans have always known – which is that Aaron Pritchett belongs in the pantheon of Canada’s most elite artists.   In 2017, Pritchett was welcomed back to the nomination circles with a Juno nom for Country Album of the Year, as well as multiple CCMA Award nominations, including Male Artist of the Year!   Pritchett’s current single “VW Bus” was the most added single at radio its week of release, as the unprecedented story continues to roll on!

Kira Isabella

Kira Isabella has a decade of experience under her belt performing her brand of up-tempo country music across Canada - an impressive feat since she is just barely 19. She has been unstoppable since her first recital at the age of seven when a fervent passion for belting out any song led her to enter every singing competition within driving distance from her hometown of Ottawa, Ontario. Her charming stage presence, bubbly personality and natural talents led her to win nearly every competition.

Kira was always looking for an expressive outlet and eventually the effervescent girl began dabbling in guitar, and writing poetry and lyrics about love, life and boys. She has since penned several tracks herself and performed hundreds of time. An immersed student of her craft, Kira delved into a variety of music, but it was when she discovered the likes of powerhouse country vocalists Shania Twain and Faith Hill, that she knew she was hooked on country.

Continually perfecting her craft set Kira Isabella apart from the crowd and she developed her stage presence skills anywhere she could. This hard work eventually led to her performing with the likes of Canadian country stars Jessie Farrell, Aaron Pritchett and Gord Bamford. By 2009 the buzz surrounding Kira's powerful pipes and dynamic sound couldn't be ignored any longer, and she was signed to Sony Music Entertainment Canada.

David James

Restless spirit and fearless determination, coupled with a ferocious belief in loyalty and a hint of a hopeless romantic, are all qualities that manifest in David James (MDM Recordings Inc. / Universal Music Canada) and can be found haunting his lyrics.  David lives by the motto “nothing worth having comes easy and opportunity looks a lot like hard work,” and work hard he does.  With his debut performance at Boots and Hearts, a new EP, and two 2016 Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®) Awardnominations in the Rising Star and Recording Package of the Year (for album Songs About A Girl) categories, David has been busy mapping out his musical trajectory.  Showing no signs of slowing down, he was recently back in the studio, recording new music.  James will release a new single, “What If I Don’t”, as well as hit the road opening shows for Chad Brownlee in early 2017.

The new single is the first step in a new musical direction for James.  He describes, “This song is about wanting to be a better person for someone.  We’ve all had those people who come into our lives who treat us like garbage.  This guy is saying he wants to change all that; really be the reason there’s a smile on her face, not a tear in her eye.”

His debut 6 song EP Songs About A Girl (release date: March 11, 2016) was produced in collaboration with music industry’s esteemed Darren Savard (Dallas Smith) and Carly Savard (One More Girl).  Three years in the making, every note was meticulously crafted to evoke the deepest and complex emotions amidst the listeners. Says James about the album, “These songs carry aspects of the human experience we all share – love, passion, perseverance, and really laying it all on the line for those you care about.”

A 2014 CCMA Discovery Program Finalist, in 2015 he won his first Manitoba Country Music Award (MCMA) in the Music Video of the Year category for his first single off of the EP, What We Weren’t Looking For”. The single is a melodic love song exploring the intoxicating surprise of an unexpected romance.  The song was also featured on the NOW County 10 compilation. His single Lonely Girl,” written by the talented Ben Tennis (Jason Aldean, Parmalee), Brad Rempel (of High Valley), and AJ Goodvin hit the radio waves on March 8, 2016.  An artist with a diverse repertoire, in contrast to his previous release, David describes his single (“Lonely Girl”) as upbeat and especially fun to play live.  He shares, “the message behind the song is that even at our lowest lows, everyone has so much to offer and deserves to be loved.”

Known for his charming sense of humour, like many artists, music and songwriting has always been in his soul. He jokes his career path was clearly defined, “when at age 14, following my impassioned performance of Aerosmith’s ‘I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’, I came in almost dead last and lost my junior high school Canadian Idol.  I knew then that music must be my destiny!!” Signed to award-winning Canadian country music label MDM Recordings Inc., David describes his sound as melodic pop-rock influenced country.
