A Traveler Weeps, A River Laughs - Performance

As part of Twelve Gates Arts' project, sāgar kāmath will present Myths and Dreams of Red & Blue on June 12th at 8pm at the Gordon Gallery at the University of Pennsylvania.

sāgar kāmath offers a night of storytelling and mythical journeying that weaves together Kathak dance, painting, video, and sound in a one-night-only, one-man show. Produced in relation to the paintings sāgar created for the summer 2026 group show “A Traveler Weeps, A River Laughs” at Twelve Gates Arts and the banners created for the front facade of the Parkway Central Library, this will be an intimate evening exploring diasporic identity, nostalgia, boyhood, and the pursuit of the American Dream. This event is presented in partnership with Twelve Gates Arts, ArtPhilly's What Now: 2026 festival, and the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design.
