A Kinda Dukish Evening

Join us for A Kinda Dukish Evening, the Calgary Jazz Academy's winter concert celebrating the timeless music of Duke Ellington and the vibrant spirit of classic jazz.

Featuring performances by the CJA Big Band (instructed by Johnny Summers) and Jazz Combos (instructed by Shane Statz and Jim Johnston), this special night brings Ellington's iconic swing and unmistakable style to life - alongside a curated selection of jazz standards.

Our students will showcase their artistry, teamwork, and passion for the music that shaped jazz tradition.  Whether you're a long-time jazz enthusiast or discovering Duke Ellington's genius for the first time, this concert promises an unforgettable evening of groove, ballads and just the right amount of blues.
