Description
Cafés have traditionally been the hub of social life in many of the world’s great cities. Customers debated the hot topics of the day – politics, religion, literature, art – over glasses of local wine and spirits, often paired with light cuisine. From Prosecco and Grappa in the morning light of Verona, to cava and sherry in late-afternoon Madrid, to twilight wine and port in Oporto, wine and spirits have played a central role in world culture. Paul Watkin leads this guided tasting in celebration of café culture, past and present. Each guest at the seminar will receive a second-hand classic book to take home, and there will be café-style snacks at the conclusion of the event.
