Inspired by our newest exhibition, Dressed To Impress: Footwear and Consumerism in the 1980s, we're excited to offer a one-of-a-kind vinyl record paint night with artist and Bata Shoe Museum graphic designer Gus Aguirre. In this 3-hour, in-person workshop, participants will be guided through the process of painting on a vinyl record in the style of Memphis design, including an image of the Original Air Jordan 1 sneaker. Learn more about the 1980s origins of Memphis design here.
All materials, instruction museum admission, and one (1) complimentary drink are included. A cash bar will also be available for drink and snack purchases.
Please present your ticket at the Front Desk upon arrival.
This workshop will take place in-person in Footprints at the Bata Shoe Museum (located on the ground level). Limited spots available. Please email shan.fernando@batashoemuseum.ca with questions or concerns.
