Magnificent River Rats 25th Festival featuring Finger Eleven

The Magnificent River Rats Festival started in 1997 on a flat deck trailer with a sketchy sound system in a riverside campground in Athabasca, Alberta. Danny Hooper was both the emcee and main performer.

Now we are holding our 25th festival!

Sadly, we can't say it's our 25th anniversary because COVID-19 took that away, but still, 25 festivals is quite an achievement!

TWENTY-FIVE festivals! That's 25 festivals with people rocking and rolling to music from Corb Lund, Charlie Major to Helix, Bif Naked, and One Bad Son and many, MANY more!

Today we are pleased to invite you to join us as our emcee Danny Hooper guides us through TWO days of music from Finger Eleven, 25 Cigarettes, the Richard Woodman Band, Delirium, Ramshackle Fancy, Dirt Road Angels, Nice Horse, and more!

We are honoured to have 3x world champion hoop dancer Dallas Arcand perform July 2 too!

This is a family-friendly event with stuff for the kids to do, a Farmers' Market and food trucks on site, and a July 1 parade and fireworks.

Sit along the bank of the mighty Athabasca River with the rolling hills behind the stage and enjoy the performances. Watch the fireworks reflect off the water as Finger Eleven plays and be dazzled by the magic of Dallas Arcand as he controls the hoops which seem to bend through time and space.
