2026 SLIDE SHOW

Hello fans of the Old Moar’s Barn Slide Shows! Once again we are excited to bring you a couple great nights of entertainment out here at The Old Moar’s Barn on Pigeon Bluff Road. The 2026 Slide Show on May 23 and 24, 2026 will present 4 great acts to set you on a positive path for the summer.

 Saturday, 8 PM May 23 Performers:

Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner is a Winnipeg-based multi-instrumentalist known for his folk/roots bands Red Moon Road and Fire & Smoke, and his work accompanying local acts Andrina Turenne, Flora Luna, among many others. He took the long way around to the slide guitar, but brings a wide palette of genres to the instrument.  

Lloyd Peterson is a Winnipeg-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer/engineer. Raised in Niagara Falls Ontario, he wrote his first song and bought his first tape recorder at the age of 15. He’s been composing and recording ever since. He plays electric and acoustic guitars and lap steel and is proud to be making his Slide Show debut on Saturday May 23.

Sunday, 2 PM May 24 Performers:

Team Landreth is Wally Landreth and his two handsome sons, David and Joey. They will appear together again for an afternoon at the 2026 Slide Show, a rare occurrence which will feature the songs of Wally Landreth performed lovingly with his boys. Joey is now known worldwide as a fine slide guitarist who can also play with his other fingers. Son David is a tasty, smooth and very dashing bass player, much better than his Daddy who was not so bad himself.  Come and join them for a musical family reunion!

David Essig is a mainstay of the Canadian Folk/Roots scene for over 50 years. He performed at every major folk festival in Canada and appeared in concerts across North America, Europe, and Australia. David released 23 original albums, published two books of fiction, and produced nearly 100 albums. David is revered as one of Canada’s finest narrative songwriters and as a brilliant slide guitarist. 

Hillbily Burlesque (Darrell Sandmoen and Angel Calnek) perform at both Saturday night and Sunday matinee concerts with our excellent house band The Slide Backers consisting of Vaughan Poyser on the big strings, Julene Gravett on the skins and sitting in on keys and guitars, Ken Pinchin.
