Colin Maier (oboe, saw, vocals, from Quartetto Gelato) & Mark Camilleri (pianist and music director for The Tenors) are “Joyride”, a fun show of jazz, funk, ragtime, Celtic, klezmer and more.  Colin and Mark’s mastery and versatility in a smorgasbord of styles has Colin switching from oboe, to pennywhistle, to voice, and even the saw in a high-energy romp that shows off their taste for fun. From Minnie the Moocher (with audience participation), to “Air on a Blue String” (a nod to JS Bach), to Chick Corea’s “Spain” and Piazzolla’s heartrending “Tanti Anni Prima”, they pepper their show with hilarious anecdotes and have a blast playing “Stump the Chump” (Mark creates a new song on the spot from random notes provided by members of the audience).

ABOUT COLIN MAIER: Colin has been playing oboe with Quartetto Gelato since 2009, touring the world while also singing and playing musical saw, pennywhistle and a host of other instruments. He has released two solo CD’s which receive regular radio play on over 250 radio stations around the world. As an oboe soloist, he has performed in front of many orchestras across Canada and the United States, and can be heard playing the musical saw in the video game blockbuster “Cuphead 2”. His extensive and varied performances saw him in Sarah Brightman’s World Tour, numerous professional theatre productions across Canada, and as a ninja in TV’s “Honey I Shrunk the Kids!”. Colin has also worked for over 20 years as a dancer, actor, stuntman, singer, choreographer, acrobat and martial-artist, and was seen in the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremonies as the Devil Fiddler in the Flying Blue Canoe at which was viewed by over 2 billion people.

ABOUT MARK CAMILLERI: Mark’s entire professional life embraces music as  a pianist, composer, conductor, music director, arranger, engineer, producer, and the owner of  “IMAGINE Sound Studios”, where he has produced recordings with Jeff Healey, Jason Priestly, The Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Quartetto Gelato, Marvin Hamlisch, Alan Thicke and more. He has played with artists such as Il Divo, Celine Dion, Sting, Eric Clapton, Seth MacFarland, Andrea Bocelli, Paul Anka, Wayne Newton, Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, David Foster, Annie Lennox, Audra McDonald, The Canadian Tenors, Herbie Hancock, The Priests, Dee Snider, Johnny Reid and Jim Cuddy. Mark was also a featured pianist at the Pan-Am Games cultural concert and has toured as a Concert Artist for Yamaha Canada.
