81. Edwidge Danticat in Conversation

The recipient of a MacArthur “Genius” grant, Edwidge Danticat’s renowned works of fiction include Breath, Eyes, Memory, an Oprah's Book Club selection; The Dew Breaker, a PEN/Faulkner Award finalist and winner of the inaugural Story Prize; and Claire of the Sea Light, a New York Times Notable Book. Dèy is her first novel in more than a decade, and one of her most deeply affecting works yet. Moving from Haiti to Brooklyn to Miami, Dèy follows a narrator who flits between worlds like a firefly, telling a deeply affecting story of the Haitian diaspora, grief, and inseverable family ties. Danticat speaks to this exquisitely beautiful novel, and her work to date, with former host of CBC Radio’s Writers & Company, Eleanor Wachtel.
