Kawai Strong Washburn’s debut novel, Sharks in the Time of Saviors, made him an instant literary phenomenon; it won the 2021 PEN/Hemingway award, was longlisted for the Center For Fiction First Novel Prize, and was selected as one of the year’s top books by Barack Obama and the New York Times, among multiple other publications. He returns with a new epic tale in The Names of the New World, following an irresistible pair of lovers as they try to survive the destruction caused by a massive storm. Join us to hear a rising star of the literary world, before he sweeps the awards lists again.
