2026 CCAA Men's Basketball National Championship

Ensure your spot in the stands for the best in Canadian collegiate basketball! Vancouver Island University is set to welcome teams from across Canada to the West Coast for the 2026 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball National Championship--presented by TD.

All games will take place at the VIU Gymnasium (Building 190) at Vancouver Island University's main campus: 900 Fifth Street in Nanaimo, British Columbia.

Tournament Schedule

• Wednesday, March 18: four quarterfinals
• Thursday, March 19: two bronze quarterfinals and two semifinals
• Friday, March 20: 7th place game and two bronze semifinals
• Saturday, March 21: bronze and gold games

All seating is general admission. Teams and matchups will be determined in early March 2026. As hosts, the VIU Mariners automatically qualify for the tournament.

Ticket Prices

• Tournament Pass - Adult: $45.00
• Tournament Pass - VIU Alumni/Non-VIU Students/Seniors 65+: $35.00*
• Day Pass (March 18, 19, or 20) - Adult: $15.00 - 2 Sessions (see below)
• Day Pass (March 18, 19, or 20) - VIU Alumni/Non-VIU Students/Seniors 65+: $10.00* - 2 Sessions (see below)
• Day Pass (Day 4, March 21) - Adult: $20.00
• Day Pass (Day 4, March 21) - Alumni/Non-VIU Students/Seniors 65+: $15.00*

IMPORTANT:

March 18 & 19 Day Passes are divided into two sessions:
• Session 1: 1:00 PM & 3:00 PM games
• Session 2: 6:00 PM & 8:00 PM games
The gym will be cleared between sessions. Separate tickets are required for each session.

*VIU Alumni must present valid alumni ID (alumni card or the VIU Alumni app). Non-VIU students must present a student card or proof of study.

Day passes will be on sale Monday, March 16th at 12pm, Tournament pass sales will end on Wednesday, March 18th. 

Youth 12 and under and VIU Students are free but a youth tournament pass or VIU Student Pass must be purchased and presented at the door to account for seating capacity. VIU students can also purchase the Blue Thunder All Access Pass with perks from the VIU Students' Union - available here!
