Description
Set against the stunning backdrop of Bald Mountain at River Run Lodge, Concert for a Cure returns for an unforgettable evening of music and meaning. The Music of Prince featuring former members of The New Power Generation delivers the iconic sound and electric spirit of Prince’s original live performances — including hits like “1999,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Purple Rain,” and “Nothing Compares 2 U.”
Led by longtime NPG members who performed with Prince for over two decades, this group brings authenticity, reverence, and funk to every moment of the show — joined by lead singer, MacKenzie, known for his soulful and charismatic stage presence and powerful vocals.
Following their reunion for the 2016 Official Prince Tribute Concert in Minnesota, the band has brought this tribute around the country, honoring Prince’s legacy with precision, soul, and the same vibrant arrangements they once played with the man himself.
This benefit concert is the capstone event of the Killebrew-Thompson Memorial, a three-day celebration raising critical funds for cancer research and patient care. In its 49th year, KTM has proudly donated over $24.5 million to its beneficiaries at St. Luke’s Cancer Institute and the Masonic Cancer Center at the University of Minnesota.
