Description
The 11th edition of this one-of-a-kind fundraising event is in support of the 41 Service Battalion Society and sells out every year, so get your tickets quick!
Throughout the evening guests are invited to shoot a wide selection of new and vintage firearms then taste extraordinary scotches, drink fine wines and beer (supplied by Wild Rose Brewery) and eat enough BBQ'd meat to make a grown man weep. There is also an outdoor cigar garden and Cuban cigars available for purchase plus an exhibit from the Military Museums of Calgary and a commemorative gift.
What are the details, you ask? Well - the $275 ticket price includes access to all shooting bays (pistol and rifle) featuring our private collection of unique military and contemporary firearms, a mouthwatering BBQ buffet plus 15 pre-paid 'activity tickets' that can be used for ammunition, adult refreshments or both. Each activity ticket can be exchanged for a magazine of ammo or a fine cocktail, premium scotch or glass of wine. Certain scotches may require additional tickets.
Once your pre-paid tickets are gone, additional ammunition and beverages are available for purchase throughout the evening. Remember! All proceeds will go directly to the 41 Service Battalion Society.
This event is limited to 300 tickets.
About 41 Service Battalion
41 Service Battalion is an Army Reserve Combat Service Support unit that trains to provide transportation, supply, and maintenance to field units under combat conditions. With elements in both Calgary (14 Service Company) and Edmonton (15 Service Company), 41 Service Battalion offers critically important logistics support to all Alberta Army Reserve units on both domestic operations and major training events. It has had members serve in both World Wars, Korea, and Afghanistan. The Battalion has also provided a large number of soldiers to augment the Regular Force for operations in Germany, Cyprus, Egypt, Cambodia, Bosnia, Croatia, Haiti and Somalia.
The battalion traces its origins to the formation of No. 14 Company, Canadian Army Service Corps (CASC) in Calgary on 01 April 1910. 14 Company provided transport, food services, maintenance and some supply functions until February 1922. The unit received different designations through the years including the following: 13th Divisional Train, CASC; 2nd (Reserve) Corps Troops Column Royal Canadian Army Service Corps (RCASC); 4 (Reserve) Armoured Divisional Column, RCASC; 7 Column RCASC; Calgary Service Battalion; and 14 (Calgary) Service Battalion.
