One of Canada’s most recognizable voices in jazz, TIA BRAZDA delves into the past with her new album WHEN I GET LOW. The album finds Brazda rediscovering songs from the 1930s largely from the Great American songbook. Brazda’s jazz-pop gems and retro style have established her as a sparkling presence on the jazz scene, both at home in Canada and abroad. Not only a singer, but a songwriter as well, Brazda has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, as well as toured numerous times across North America, from intimate supper clubs to large outdoor festivals. Her music has been described as a “hip pastiche” and a “walking catalog of 20th century jazz styles”. Her first single “Cabin Fever” broke through in 2012 and she followed that up with the 2015 full-length Bandshell, named as one of the best of the decade in the Italian press and one of the best of the year by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto.
