Description

ReggaeFest 2025

You’re invited to gather and groove with Calgary ReggaeFest! Join us August 29 and 30 for Calgary's premier celebration of reggae music and Caribbean culture at our new home at The Rise on St. Patrick's Island. More than a music festival, Calgary ReggaeFest is a pulsating rhythm of unity, culture and celebration.

Listen to LIVE music from local, national and international performers:

Friday, August 29:

  Gates 4:00 pm, Show 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm

  • Ras Bagga's Rootz Hardcore Reggae Band (AB) - Roots Reggae Band from Calgary
  • Kate Stevens (AB) - Highly acclaimed vocalist and songwriter hailing from Calgary. With her emotive soul and R&B sound, riddled with jazz harmonies, Kate has established herself as one of Calgary's finest musicians.
  • Ammoye (ON) - Singing songs of love, life and justice, 7-time Juno nominee, Ammoye delivers a wholly unique future forward reggae sound that incorporates old-school rocksteady dancehall and dubstep, with gospel, soul and R&B. With her infectious voice and messages of empowerment, Jamaican-born Ammoye is a lightworker and self declared soul rebel.
  • Macka Diamond (Jamaica/USA) - A dancehall artist who was born in Jamaica and inspired by Sister Nancy to sing.
  • Glen Washington (Jamaica/USA) - Grammy Nominated reggae/soca singer-songwriter/drummer. Washington made his first hit record "Rockers Not Crackers" in 1978.
  • Hardcore Reggae Band (ON) - ReggaeFest’s House Backing Band.

Saturday, August 30:

  Gates 2:00 pm, Show 3:00 pm - 9:30 pm

  • Mocking Shadows Rocksteady Soul Revue (AB) - Formed in Calgary in 1997 and known for their mix of R&B, Soul, Funk, Reggae and Ska Jazz.
  • Canadian Ska Orchestra (AB) - founded in 2018, this 17 piece band plays genres from multi-level Ska, Rocksteady, Jazz, Punk and even some pop!
