Johannes Linstead - From Spain to Cuba CD Release Concert

Canada’s renowned multi award-winning guitarist and composer, JOHANNES LINSTEAD welcomes Latin music and Guitar fans to Hugh’s Room on Wednesday November 5th to introduce his latest album FROM SPAIN TO CUBA. The music follows the journey of the guitar from the exotic sounds of the Mediterranean to the colourful rhythms of the Caribbean. Accompanied by Geoff Hlibka on guitar and Jordan Abraham on soulful accordion, Johannes sets the stage aglow with his Spanish guitar magic!

FROM SPAIN TO CUBA is Johannes’ 12th studio album, bringing together musicians from many diverse ethnic backgrounds including Argentina, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Morocco.

From having over half a billion streams, to being named Canada’s “Guitarist of the Year,” to winning eight “Best Album” awards, to having seven top-ten US Billboard charting albums, and winning the “People’s Choice” award in the UK, Johannes Linstead has become recognized internationally as one of the best-selling guitarists in the Instrumental, Latin Jazz and World Music genres.

Chances are even if you don’t know his name, you’ve heard his music. Johannes’ songs have been used in many popular movies and TV shows, like the well know animated movie Despicable Me 4, as well as Californication with David Duchovny, The Following with Kevin Bacon, Burn Notice, Gene Simmons’ Family Jewels, Pawn Stars, Person of Interest, Miami Housewives, and others. World champion figure skater Stephane Lambiel used Johannes’ song Zabuca as part of his choreography during the Winter Olympics, and recently Cafe Tropical was featured in the hugely popular video game Tropico 4 and 5.

Johannes is an endorsed “Influential Artist” with Yamaha Guitars USA, the largest musical instrument manufacturer in the world. In 2016, he signed an endorsement deal with D’Addario, the largest string manufacturer in the world, and in 2018 partnered with D’Angelico Guitars of New York city. Wednesday November 5.
